So there are a lot of Americans who have started to support Trump the last couple of months, not because they are so enthusiastic for him as such but because he is the only alternative to Hillary Clinton. Stephen Colbert went to the Republican National Convention and asked people how many of them have supported Trump from the beginning and they were very few – lots of Republicans wanted to see another candidate. Evangelical leader Wayne Grudem has made an effort to portray a vote for Trump as a “morally good” choice, describing the billionaire’s scandalous rhetoric and lies as “flaws” that’ll hopefully go away, but it’s painfully obvious that he would have preferred to have another Republican candidate.
Then there are of course the enthusiastic Trump supporters who sincerely agree with him. They can’t find the racism in falsely claiming that African Americans commit almost all violent crime or in treating Muslims as Nazi Germany treated Jews in the 1930’s, because that’s their actual opinion. They’ll constantly point out the misbehaviour and errant views of Clinton, and for them her lies and changed opinions are way worse than Trump’s lies and changed opinions.
But here’s why even they shouldn’t vote for Trump. Here’s why a person who agrees with every word the Donald utters still shouldn’t try to elect him to the White House. He’s totally unpredictable. You have no idea that what he says corresponds in any way to what he wants to or will do as President.
Anna Demme wrote about this a while ago. Trump is a textbook case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This isn’t the same thing as the narcissism that most people struggle with. It’s a real disorder which makes emotions control the victim’s logic rather than reason, strips the victim of empathy, forces the victim to change opinion over and over just to get attention, makes the victim unable to receive counseling, and puts the victim’s self-interest above anything else. As Demme states:
“[Psychologists] have not done a very good job of telling people why it’s the most important factor in deciding whether or not he is a viable candidate for our country’s highest office: decisions made by someone with NPD cannot be trusted.”
In fact, the American Psychiatric Association has recently exhorted psychologists not to point out Trump’s disorder. This is due to the Goldwater rule, instituted after psychiatrists rightly pointed out that Barry Goldwater was unfit for being President, which made him lose the election. The rule makes sense since it can easily be used to undermine democracy. But the APA statement should not be viewed as a denial of Trump having NPD. Rather, it is so painfully obvious that he has that they rightly suspect that it will be impossible for him to win as people realize this on a broader level.
This is why Grudem’s major flaw in his article, as I point out in the video above, simply is that he assumes that what Trump says that he will do actually reflects what he will do. There’s no guarantee that Trump will not say and do things primarily driven by emotion and self-righteousness, and even start wars based on irrational rage. That’s why it’s irresponsible and immoral to vote for Donald Trump.

Update: Wayne Grudem has now withdrawn his statement of Trump being a “good candidate with flaws” after having realized that Trump is an adulterer who has engaged in sexual assault. He now urges Trump to withdraw from the election.

I agree that Trump is a really bad candidate and I do not trust him at all. However, not voting for Trump with me to vote for Hillary Clinton who is extremely pro-choice. Saving babies is the most important thing on my agenda and so I unfortunately will be forced to vote for Trump.

As I write above, due to Trump’s NPD there’s absolutely no guarantee that he suddenly wouldn’t kill babies. In fact, there’s a significant risk that he would launch a nuclear war that obviously would kill both babies and adults. So again, even if you agree with Trump you shouldn’t vote for him, because he is impossible to trust.

Evan McMullin is the obvious choice to vote for in this election. Pray he gets onto the ballot in your state. He has a fighting chance, even if he is a bit late to the game.
So the choice is between Hillary who will do nothing to stop the killing of actual babies or Trump who might kill people. Something that WILL happen versus something that MIGHT happen. Actuality versus potentiality. Also, there is absolutely no guarantee that Hillary won’t start a nuclear war. And trusting Hillary after all we’ve heard for some time is a really tall order.

As I point out in the video, Trump has indeed made political promises that would kill babies (along with many adults), for example ignoring climate change and using nuclear bombs in the Middle East. So even if you trust the words of both candidates you can’t escape from the fact that Trump will kill more people. But there’s an even more severe problem, and that’s Trump’s NPD which makes it impossible to trust his stance on abortion or anything else. Since he is so dangerous I think the best thing a pro-lifer could do is to vote for Hillary and spend the coming years reaching out to girls and women themselves, arguing that they should not abort but support them in giving birth.
